Vedic culture can be described in one word that is yajña (yagya). The proof of this course from Darśa-Pourṇamāsa to Aśvamedha-yajña. Later on these yajñas are also described as Pañcamahā-yajñas. The book entitled 'Pañcamahā-yajña-vidhi' by Ṛṣi Dayananda explains daily prayers and methods for yajña very well. Beside this, there are a number of books available on these subjects, but it is difficult for a common man to understand these.

It is observed that different procedures and sequences of Havan's mantras are followed in various Samāja's, which presents a very misleading picture to a common person. Keeping all this in mind and after thorough research the present book has been written. The sequence of havana mantras has been written according to the book of Swami Dayananda Saraswati and Sārvadeśika Ārya Pratinidhi Sabhā so that every house and/or Samāja follows the same pattern in the performance of Sandhyā and Yajña. Especially for common person and new user the text has been supported with appropriate figures. At the end, some important prayers, bhajanas and Vedic information have also been included.
